Maria Ysabella Ysmael (born on August 8, 1996) is a Filipino model from the Philippines. She rose to fame after participating in Miss Universe Philippines 2020[1]Wikipedia.
It is the first version of the Miss Universe Philippines competition. Earlier the Philippine right of Miss Universe was under the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc.
Although, the crowning night was originally programmed for May 3, 2020. But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been first postponed to June 14, 2020.
First Runner Up in Miss Universe Philippines 2020
The final contest was held on October 25, 2020. Cordillera Convention Hall, Baguio Country Club in Baguio is the place where it took place and broadcasted on GMA Network.
Maria Ysmael became the first runner-up. She lost this competition from Rabiya Occeña Sundall Mateo of Iloilo City. Now, Rabiya will go on to represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2020 contest.
During the competition, she was asked regarding her learning as a child that made much influence on her. The model talked about dancing ballet at age four and how it involves various techniques.
