Chef Brian Malarkey will compete in Superchef Grudge Match 2023, a brand-new Food Network reality program. Darnell Ferguson, a celebrity chef, and restaurateur will host the show, which will feature dramatic, protracted arguments between opposing cooks that are resolved in a single round. The winner will have the last laugh on their opponent. Chef Carlos Anthony, Brian Malarkey’s pupil turned protégé, is tired of being his mentor’s shadow. He wants to put an end to the burden of being second to his mentor and will confront him in the arena to establish his dominance in the competitive series.

According to Warner Bros. Discovery’s official synopsis:

“It’s mentor vs protégé as restaurateur Brian Malarkey battles Chef Carlos Anthony. Carlos is weary of carrying all the culinary weight while Brian receives all the attention – but does he have what it takes to break out of the shadows and grab the spotlight?”

It goes on to say:

“Upcoming episodes include a culinary commentator clash between Justin Warner and Simon Majumdar, a reunion of the ‘Iron Chef Gauntlet’ rivalry between Stephanie Izard and Shota Nakajima, and a social media dispute between Drew Bent and Claudia Sandoval from San Diego.”
